The Opportunity

Intrinzic have partnered exclusively with a well-funded, high-growth technology company, who are building a globally distributed, AI-powered platform used by millions of people every week.

The company is now expanding its Platform / DevOps engineering team and is seeking multiple Senior Engineers with deep Google Cloud experience to help scale and harden the infrastructure behind a production-grade, real-world system.

These roles are for engineers who have operated cloud platforms at scale, not those looking to learn GCP for the first time.
  
The Role

You’ll join a small, highly capable Platform Engineering team responsible for reliability, automation, security, and developer enablement.
While the organisation operates across multiple cloud providers, this role is GCP-first, with a strong focus on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and surrounding Google Cloud services. You’ll have meaningful ownership over platform standards, architecture, and how software is delivered safely across the organisation.
  
What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing and maintaining Terraform infrastructure on GCP (projects, IAM, VPCs, GKE, service accounts)
• Operating and scaling GKE clusters (regional and multi-region) in production
• Improving Kubernetes security, networking, autoscaling, and workload isolation
• Building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Artifact Registry, and GitOps tooling (ArgoCD)
• Implementing observability with Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, OpenTelemetry, and Datadog
• Enabling safe deployment strategies (canary, blue/green, progressive delivery)
• Creating developer self-service tooling for environments, secrets, and access control
• Applying GCP-native security practices (IAM, Workload Identity, Secret Manager, Binary Authorization)
• Partnering with product teams on reliability, incident response, and SLO ownership

  
What They’re Looking For

• 5–10+ years’ experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles
• Strong, hands-on production experience with Google Cloud Platform
• Deep experience running GKE in live, customer-facing environments
• Solid Infrastructure-as-Code skills using Terraform and Helm
• Strong understanding of GCP networking (VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, load balancing, DNS)
• Experience supporting Kubernetes-based CI/CD workflows
• Observability-first mindset (metrics, logs, traces, alerting)
• Comfortable troubleshooting distributed systems and cloud-native systems
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go

  
Nice to Have

• Experience operating in multi-cloud environments (GCP + AWS)
• Exposure to GKE Autopilot, node auto-provisioning, or Kubernetes cost optimisation
• Familiarity with Cloud Build, Cloud Armor, or Binary Authorization
• Experience supporting highly regulated or security-sensitive platforms
• Experience running managed databases such as Cloud SQL, Postgres, Redis, or MongoDB Atlas
