IT Project Manager

Sydney
AUD/Year
We’re partnering with a well-established Australian retail and eCommerce business that’s entering a critical transformation phase across its technology landscape.

The role
Reporting to the Head of IT, you’ll own the end-to-end delivery of enterprise technology initiatives across a live retail and eCommerce environment.

The business has invested in a clear three-year technology roadmap and is now ready to execute properly. This is a senior but hands-on delivery-led role with real influence, executive visibility, and board exposure.

This is not a greenfield environment, and it’s not pretending to be.
The technology landscape has historically been fragmented, with systems not talking to each other and customer-facing projects delivered without proper governance. The business knows this, owns it, and has made the investment to fix it.

What you’ll be doing
  • Owning end-to-end delivery of IT projects across eCommerce, POS, CRM, ERP, integrations, data, and infrastructure
  • Translating a multi-year roadmap into structured, achievable delivery plans
  • Managing scope, timelines, risks, dependencies, and budget trade-offs
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders across digital, retail, finance, and operations
  • Partnering with external vendors and delivery partners
  • Establishing delivery rhythms, reporting, and governance where little currently exists
  • Leading cutovers and go-lives in customer-facing, high-availability environments
  • Supporting change management, stakeholder communication, and adoption
  • Presenting progress, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership and the board
What we’re looking for

This role will suit a senior IT Project Manager who has lived through retail or eCommerce transformation and understands the realities of delivering change in a live trading environment.

You’ll likely bring:

  • 8–12+ years’ experience delivering complex IT projects
  • Proven experience in retail and/or eCommerce environments (this is essential)
  • Exposure to platforms such as eCommerce, POS, CRM, ERP, OMS/WMS, and integrations
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen and comfortable working within constraints
  • Confidence engaging with executives and challenging assumptions constructively
  • Experience operating in environments where delivery maturity is still being built
